About this tool
Many office scanners and phone scan apps scan only one side at a time. So you end up with one PDF of front pages and another of back pages. This tool joins them in the right order: front 1, back 1, front 2, back 2 and so on, so your document reads like the original double-sided paper.
If you scanned the back sides by turning the whole stack over, the back pages come out in reverse order. Tick "Reverse the second file" and the order is fixed for you. You can also mix three or more PDFs, or take two pages at a time from each file. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
What is the page order?
One page from each file in turn: page 1 of the first file, page 1 of the second file, then page 2 of the first file, and so on. Use the arrows in the file list to change which file comes first.
What if one file has more pages?
When one file runs out, the remaining pages of the other files are added at the end, so no page is lost.
When should I reverse the second file?
If you scanned the back sides by turning the whole stack over, the last page is scanned first. Reversing the second file puts those pages back in the right order.
Will the quality change?
No. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays sharp and selectable.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Alternate & mix PDF pages runs inside your browser, so your document never leaves your phone or computer. Close the tab and nothing is kept.
